Video: Nug In Color

By - Friday, March 9th, 2012

Bates just posted this video, the latest offering from the Swedish graffiti artist Nug. Utilizing various techniques Nug fills canvases with lines and bursts of color from spray cans in motions that appear insane, absurd, and completely random. This contemporary form of graffiti meets action painting results in overall compositions reminiscent of Jackson Pollock’s drip paintings. Although Nug’s performative process may appear ridiculous, seeing the finished works flashing on screen in the end of the video are actually quite beautiful and impressive.
