I was in Honolulu during the 150th anniversary of the overthrow. It was also the 50th anniversary of Hawaii becoming a State.  And Barack Obama was about to be sworn in.  I wrote a poem, for which I have been looking, but so far, I haven’t found it today.

The sentiments were:
Today is the 112th anniversary of the United States overthrowing the Hawaiian Monarchy.
This year is the fiftieth anniversary of Hawaii becoming a State in the United States.
On the 20th, a mixed race loca boy will be sworn in as President of the United States.
Who is being assimilated?
