Video: Steve Duncan Explores Old Bushwick Sewer System

The folks over at MyBlockNYC, have rolled out the second installment of their Undercity Project. In this video, urban historian Steve Duncan and filmmaker Andrew Wonder, visit the sewer system that runs from Bushwick to the East River. In the 1880s, Bushwick was the nation’s capital for breweries and that made for a lot of wastewater. A couple of miles of extension sewer were built underneath Knickerbocker avenue to bring the wastewater directly to the East River. Source: MyBlockNYC
