Watch: A$AP Rocky Premieres “Everyday” Music Video

By - Wednesday, August 26th, 2015

An incredibly trippy music video à la A$AP surfaced on Apple Music today. A$AP Rocky’s music video for “Everyday” features Rod Stewart, Miguel and Mark Ronson. Peep the video below.

The video, opening with a scene of Rocky floating face down in a Hollywood mansion pool, is immediately reminiscent of the 1950 Hollywood classic, Sunset Boulevard – and if you haven’t seen it, do yourself and a favor and Netflix your day away. The narrative of the “Everyday” video is the story of the side effects of fame: the public-mandated plastic surgery, the accompanying drugs, sex and perversions, youth and a tortured mind trapped in an elderly body. The irony of Rod Stewart’s vocals and appearance in this video are also pretty profound.

"Alright, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my closeup."
“Alright, Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my closeup.”
The video was directed by Emmanuel Cossu x Fleur & Manu (Skrillex, Drake), produced by Roman Pichon Herrera (alt-J) and executive produced by Jules De Chateleux (Disclosure, alt-J).
A$AP Rocky will be performing on the MTV Video Music Awards this coming Sunday, August 30th and is currently gearing up for his co-headlining, North American”Rocky + Tyler” tour with Tyler, The Creator. He will also be co-headlining a European tour with Wiz Khalifa later this fall.
