Wednesday Walls: LIGHTUP in DC

By - Wednesday, September 16th, 2015

LIGHTUP is an artist from the Washington D.C./Virginia area known for his almost abstract graffiti pieces. Each photo I’ve included shows that LIGHTUP is adept at many different forms and styles of graffiti. The photos start out with simple straight letters but quickly change into crazy, abstract pieces that many people would probably not be able to decipher. The first six photos were taken in a tunnel in Virginia that had several dope pieces on the walls, but LIGHTUP had the most pieces painted and one of the most intriguing styles. It seems like he wants to push himself to create new styles that stand out from the rest of the graffiti community. If you were to show someone the first and last picture I’ve included they would probably think they were two different artists
