The Wii U has sold 400,000 units in the US, Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime tells CNET.
“Wii U is essentially sold out of retail and we are doing our best to continually replenish stock,” Fils-Aime says. “Retailers are also doing their best to get the product to store shelves. But as soon as product hits retail, they’re selling out immediately.”
In November, GameStop reported more than 500,000 Wii U pre-orders and 1.2 million games spoken for ahead of launch.
Though it’s not saying much, if you read Twitter, you’ll notice a lot of people not understanding or what the Wii U actually is. Terrible marketing decision Nintendo.
