R.B.W. is proud to present “Time & a Half” our Winter 2012 Artist curation featuring works on paper by local artist Dan Funderburgh
Dan Funderburgh is a Brooklyn-based illustrator, artist, and wallpaper designer whose creations are rooted in the world of decorative arts. Dan was born in Seattle and reared in the Midwest, receiving a BFA from the University of Kansas with a focus in illustration. After moving to New York in 2001, Dan established a partnership with the now Brooklyn-based wallpaper studio Flavorpaper, where his designs are hand-screen printed. The wallpapers have been featured at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair and at Pulse Miami, and are a part of the Cooper-Hewitt’s permanent collection as well as the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn. Dan’s personal and gallery work includes letterpress and screen prints, sculptures and installations that play off of historical ornamentation. Revealing an acute appreciation for both the baroque and utilitarian, Dan’s work often combines the language of ornament with objects that surround us. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn.

The other day a friend pass my this doc made in Venezuela about the bombing movement in my country, I got to say this kids are really hard core, just hanging out at night in Caracas is already risky but adding going out and bombing is something completely different…Glad to see that the CMS crew still big and killing it!

I know Bob for few years now…He is been doing hand painted signs and Gold leaf for years, and he is hands down one of coolest dude I know, he surfs every morning in NJ and then go do his job which is fucking great…we were blessed when he came to shop and put our logo on the windows, steady hands and lot of patience….Thanks Bob!

Few months ago Serge Lowrider came up with the idea to make a tee of Haile Selassie I to celebrate the 80 year anniversary, once I finished the illustration, he decided that just a tee would not be enough so we started to make a mix, he contacted culturalwarriors to take care of the music part and I did part of the cover for the mix, the tee was released last month, but you still on time to get it for this holidays…
Thanks to Serge for let me collaborate with him on this amazing project…
